STEALING FIRE, an autobiographical love story, was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest (ABNA) and was published in September 2013 by Drake Valley Press. In its first day of availability, it shot to #2 in its category on Amazon and was a Hot New Release for its first 90 days. Later, it was honored in the Readers’ Favorite Literary Competition.

REALIZING YOU, the first-ever self-help novel, co-authored with Ron Doades, was published in November 2013, to enthusiastic response from readers and critics.

The MYSTERIES UNWRAPPED book, THE SECRETS OF ALCATRAZ, led to her appearance on The History Channel in fall 2009.

Susan has been a playwright (two produced plays), screenwriter (2 optioned screen properties), sportswriter and feature writer for local and national magazines.

She has also managed two political campaigns, founded the East Cooper Authors Festival in 2007 and appeared as a featured speaker in dozens of venues around the US, at writers’ conferences, libraries and schools. In 2014 she founded the Writers Workshop in her hometown of Mount Pleasant, SC, an event which brings together actors and directors with playwrights of unfinished works, for staged readings and feedback to help the playwrights edit and complete their work. Also in 2014, she began private one-on-one coaching with authors, to assist them in all facets of writing, publishing and marketing their work.
